— Killed Over Grass Clippings — Harrington/Villatoro
In October of 2006, Lankward Harrington shot a landscaper, named Jose Villatoro repeatedly for getting grass clippings on him. What kind of world are we living in when this happens. One individual just trying to get by in life and
another guy walking by.. apparently going to school. As thier paths meet, one would kill the other. He had a backpack on and was caught by police walking through a school… with the gun in his backpack. He wasn’t even trying to run away. Is this what life is worth to some people? Apparently so.
Now, there is no doubt that this is wrong to kill someone… especially for messing up your shoes.. Obviously, this is opposed to someone breaking into your home, or your self-defense. ‘ But it wouldn’t be until today (10 Feb 2010) until the Justice system would end this case with a conviction for Harrington.
The great travesty in this case is not only that it occured in our nations capital, but that is now closed after it occured in 2006. It is rediculous that this is how efficient our justice system is. You can get a victim, get a suspect, get a weapon, get a confession, and the case. **This story and photo is sourced from the Washington Post.
