As a guy who doesn’t watch football on a regular basis, I may pick up 1 or 2 games a year and it seems the Superbowl is normally one of them. Whether its due to parties I go to or whether I just want to stay home and watch a game. The truth is that its kind of the thing to watch because of the consequences of the game. Its an event. Its like Mardi Gras… People who really have nothing invested in the actual purpose (football, Catholicism) love to partake and party. Of course, the other great thing about the Superbowl is… the Commercials. Who really cares if the Saints won 31 to 17 over the Colts. I just gave myself permission to drink a couple of beers, a glass of wine (I know Boushie), some chips, and Salsa. I did go cycling today so it alright.

Some of the commercials were pretty damned good. Of course, E-Trade, Doritos, Budweiser, and Go-Daddy had the requisite entries. Which One was the best?? You’ll have to decide for yourself but I like the last (of 3) E-Trades where the baby and one of his buddies is flying back from a bachelor party when the pilot comes over the loudspeaker and his buddy cries out “dad”. Love that!

The dumbest commercial award goes to the Green Police. This Audi commercial just makes me want to go and do the stuff the “Green Police” are arresting people for. One guy asked for plastic bags while shopping.. ooohhh. Another was in the hot tub with his lady and the water was too hot.. ooohh. Another guy threw out a battery in his trash; OK, this one is valid (never do this)! A last scenario was a guy that uses incandescent light-bulbs. oooohh. Nothing pleases me more than police arresting and harassing people for actions that are not illegal. Police states are no joke to me… But hey, we all get the point.. I guess.
